achieve by Petra proudly represented Ghana on the global stage at the 2024 World Summit Awards (WSA) Global Contest, held from April 6th to 9th in Hyderabad, India.
The WSA, a prestigious international initiative launched in 2003 under the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society, celebrates digital innovation that drives positive social change and supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Out of 900 registered solutions and 413 nominations from around the world, only 40 winners were selected across eight categories. Achieve by Petra emerged as the winner in the Business & Commerce category, competing alongside standout digital solutions such as LendForGood (Australia), naPorta (Brazil), TrollWall AI (Slovakia), and Gobarakah (Malaysia).
Representing achieve by Petra at the awards were Huzaifa Abdulai, General Manager, and Daniel Anaman, Head of Product. Their presence showcased Ghana’s growing influence in digital finance and social entrepreneurship on a global platform.
Launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the achieve by Petra app was created by a team of young Ghanaian innovators with a bold mission — to democratize access to investment and financial services for everyday Ghanaians. Since then, the app has grown rapidly, now serving over 340,000 users across the country.
