Today, the Achieve app is more intuitive, easier to navigate, and ultimately, more powerful. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just starting out, this app is designed to help you make informed investment decisions and grow your portfolio with ease.
It’s giving “New version, new me” energy ✨
A little background story
The Achieve project was started at a very interesting time in Ghana.
Banking Sector clean-up —— Many people were still dealing with locked funds as a result of the banking sector clean-up. Trust in the financial system was at an all-time low. People would rather keep their monies under their pillows instead of saving them in banks or Microfinance companies.
Covid-19 —— Not so long after its launch, the Covid-19 pandemic forced us all indoors amidst lockdowns and massive job losses. With uncertainties about what will come next, many people were incentivised to withdraw their funds more than they were to save.
Since its initial launch in early 2020, the Achieve team has been working tirelessly to build the best investment platform for millennials and Gen Zs. Over the past 2-3 years, we have chopped many successes building alongside you and the over 200,000 other people that use the Achieve app to save and invest. Internally, our team size increased 2x; customers grew by more than 1,500%; monthly saving increased by more than 6,400%; and our App Store and Play Store ratings still at 4.5 even with more than 5x more reviews received now, compared to our inception.
So what’s new?
From a fresh new look and feel, new investment products, loans to insurance and pensions, here’s a quick summary of what you can expect from V2.
User Interface overhaul
Our customers LOVED when we did a user interface overhaul in our September 2021 (version 1) release, and we felt the love and the warm reception it got. Now, it’s time for another overhaul of most parts of our platform. We have grown and learned a lot in these past few years. Our understanding of your needs and expectations of the platform has increased. V2 is our attempt to address most of the complaints, suggestions and recommendations you have been sending our way. You’ll find a number of new visual elements. Most visible is probably the use of 3D elements, introduction of new colours and other app personalisation tools.
Colours, colours, colours 🎨
For colours, we maintained our primary green, and introduced more “happy”, “consumer-friendly” options. We wanted to give a fresh, new, unconventional look to the platform.
Also due to the introduction of new products, you’ll find that we have made significant changes to the app’s layout. The bottom navigation bar is arranged as follows:
🏠 Home to find a summary of your active product subscriptions (i.e. DigiSave, Goals, Groups, MoneySafe).
🌏 Discover to find more products to subscribe to. Think Twitter or Instagram’s explore pages —— but for financial products 😉.
✌🏽 More where Achieve U and Achieve’s payroll Employee Self Service (ESS) lives.
😄 Profile where you can find your personal information, KYC and other settings.
For existing customers, we hope you find the new layout and adjustments easy to use as much as possible.
New products
V2 is coming with loads of new product offerings. Currently, we offer easy ways to invest and save towards your short terms goals either alone, or with groups. In V2 we’re expanding on those services to give you an even better experience.
With V2, we’re rolling out the following new features:
🏋🏾 Employee Self-Service (ESS) — Employees whose employers use the achievePayroll platform to manage their payroll processing can now access so much more on V2. With ESS, employees can still access legacy services such as leave management, payslips, and employee records. In V2, we’re making it possible to receive salaries to your Investment accounts; you can now place standing orders on your account to make contributions to your investments and goals directly from your salary at the end of the month, and access salaried loans. Even more, we’ll be rolling out task and time management solutions in the very near future.
💰 Loans — You can now access small short-term loans with flexible terms to sort out emergencies. It’s as simple as tapping 3 buttons. We’re starting with salaried loans. But other types of loans are not far from launch.
🛡️ Insurance (Coming soon) — With V2, we’re taking out the stress and complex processes involved in purchasing insurance premiums. From Life assurance to health, property and auto insurance, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
☂️ Pensions (Coming soon) — Since its approval and license by Ghana’s National Pensions Regulatory Authority in 2012, Petra has been of the country’s largest independent pensions trustees. We have have spent the last decade serving many industries and sectors. Today, we’re happy to announce that Achieve app customers will soon be able to access and purchase pension products right in the app. With this, we are 1 step closer to making access to pension products easier.
What’s next?
We have started rolling out the new updates. If you have not received it yet, be expecting it within the next couple of days. As a team, we have quite a lot on our roadmap. We will spend the next couple of weeks making this release better. At the same time, we’ll be working on new features to take your experience on the platform to the next level.
